The social media arm of the Asi Reviews Center for Custom and the Arts – Romblon (ASCCA-Romblon) unbiased no longer too long ago organized and held a Photograph Essay Contest on-line closing April 16, 2021. It aimed to bag all aspiring photojournalists of the Romblon community to showcase their skills in pictures and essay writing.
The tournament followed the theme, “Yabaw: Pagbantog it Ugat ag Hiwatong Romblomanon” (Revealing Romblon’s Roots: Lift Your City’s Veteran Lifestyles).
The fair of the competition became once to depict the earlier life and former ways of Romblon and clutch them by a chain of portrait or panorama photos, with an accompanying essay describing them.
A total of 13 members from the assorted municipalities of Romblon joined the competition and captured breathtaking photos of the earlier life of their hometowns which may perhaps perhaps perhaps be aloof alive and thriving on the present time. These photos were also accompanied by notion-upsetting essays written in their maintain language (Asi, Ini, and Onhan) and translated into English, which talks concerning the rich culture and heritage of Romblon—from rating fishing, weaving, copra production, to marble making.

Eisley Josh Gregorio of Romblon, Romblon bagged first dilemma in the competition along with his photo essay entry, Kusog Ako Sa Pangabuhi para Mabuhi, Yari sa Banwa Ko! (My Strength to Dwell Life Roots in My Land).
His breathtaking and implausible photos captured the three main former life of Romblon which may perhaps perhaps perhaps be all aloof alive and thriving on the present time—marble making, copra production, and fishing. Jansen Lloyd Magarejo of Romblon obtained second dilemma along with his photo essay, Magbinuligan (Interdependence), followed by Noemi Maquez of San Agustin, Romblon in third dilemma along side her photo essay titled, Ang Matuod na Manggad ng Romblon (Romblon’s Lawful Treasures).
The five honorary winners are: John Eric Fabul, TJ Rufon, John Lister Mondia, Anna Theresa Fabonan, and Sophia Maderazo.
The panel of judges for the Photograph Essay contest included Abner Faminiano, Nicon Fameronag, Jimmy Domingo, Rodne Galicha, and Melo Villareal. The competition became once also supported by assorted Romblon organizations, which included Bayay Sibuyanon, Romblon Eco Tour Companies and products, RSU Studying Helpful resource Center, and Melo Villareal of the Out of City Hasten Weblog.
The Top 3 winners would receive money prizes and additional giveaways subsidized by scurry blogger and social media strategist Melo Villareal. The honorary winners would also receive money prizes.
