Steve Aoki pays homage to his membership and festival roots with his Shaded Mak EP, 6OKI – Rave Royale.
The EP includes six worrying-hitting collaborations with Timmy Trumpet, k?d, Gammer, Brennan Heart, Ben Nicky, and Hasse de Moor giving every song its have original sound. Whether or not it’s miles “BIB’s” pulsating low-ends, drilling synths on “Like It Like That (feat. Spyro & MYLKI),” eccentric percussion in the midst of “Incoming,” invigorating wubs on “Mind Regulate,” explosive melodies by “Shut to You (feat. PollyAnna),” or a brassy revamp of Pulp Fiction’s famed guitar riff on “Tarantino (feat. STARX),” Aoki and his collaborators command on every song.
Visually, the EP’s “Rave Royale” legend spans at some level of a series of keen on-line sport-styled song movies, impressed by the cult classic Eastern movie Battle Royale besides the Fortnite on-line sport. [Watch them all here.]
